🔥 HD Dynamics Steam-Guard Sludge Control
A high-performance, non-phosphate dispersant and scale control additive designed to keep boiler solids suspended and removable under high-temperature steam conditions.
Overview
HD Dynamics Steam-Guard Sludge Control is a professional-grade steam boiler treatment formulated to control, disperse, and remove sludge and mineral deposits caused by calcium, magnesium, barium, aluminum, and iron. Built around a polymeric sludge conditioner and fluidizer, it keeps hardness salts and suspended solids from adhering to heat-transfer surfaces, allowing them to be removed through normal blowdown.
Unlike many dispersants that degrade under heat, Steam-Guard maintains stability and performance at elevated boiler temperatures, making it well suited for industrial and commercial steam systems. It can be used as a standalone treatment or as a supplement to chelant, carbonate, or phosphate boiler programs, adding flexibility to existing water treatment strategies.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a phosphate-based treatment?
No. Steam-Guard Sludge Control is a non-phosphate dispersant.
Can it be used with other boiler chemicals?
Yes. It is designed to supplement chelant, carbonate, or phosphate treatments.
Does it remove existing deposits?
It helps loosen and disperse existing sludge and scale so it can be removed through blowdown.
Is it stable at high temperatures?
Yes. The formulation is not degraded by heat like many conventional dispersants.
How is it fed into the system?
It can be added as a one-shot treatment or through an automated continuous feed system.
Is continuous feeding recommended?
Yes. Gradual, continuous feeding is preferred for industrial and large boiler systems.
🧪 Active Ingredient(s) or Core Composition
• Sodium Hydroxide – Maintains alkalinity and supports dispersant performance
• Anionic Dispersants – Break up and suspend sludge and mineral deposits
• Proprietary Polymeric Conditioners – Keep solids fluidized at high temperatures
• Water – Carrier for uniform system distribution
📌 Directions for Use
Dosage varies depending on boiler sludge levels. Normal application rates are 20–100 ppm, equivalent to 3–13 ounces per 1,000 gallons of boiler water capacity. The product may be fed on a one-shot basis or through an automated continuous feed system. Gradual, continuous feeding is recommended for industrial process boilers and large systems. Steam-Guard Sludge Control may be mixed with other boiler treatment chemicals and diluted with water for convenient feeding. A regular blowdown program is required to remove dispersed solids.
⚠️ Safety & Handling
