🔥 HD Dynamics Scale Shield Hard Water Boiler Protection
A high-alkalinity, non-phosphate scale and corrosion inhibitor engineered to protect boiler systems operating with hard water and high mineral content.
Overview
HD Dynamics Scale Shield Hard Water Boiler Protection is a professional-grade liquid boiler treatment formulated to control scale, sludge, corrosion, and mineral deposits in steam boilers operating under hard-water conditions. The carbonate-based chemistry is specifically designed to perform at high calcium and magnesium concentrations, where conventional treatments struggle.
By combining strong alkalinity control with polymeric sludge dispersants, Scale Shield keeps hardness salts suspended so they can be removed through blowdown instead of adhering to heat-transfer surfaces. This helps maintain boiler efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and extend equipment life, while minimizing scale-related downtime and maintenance costs.
✅ What This Product Is Used For
• Preventing lime and mineral scale in hard-water boilers
• Inhibiting internal boiler corrosion and rust

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What type of boiler systems is this designed for?
It is designed for steam boilers operating with hard water and high mineral content.
Does this product remove existing scale?
It helps loosen and disperse existing sludge and scale so it can be removed through blowdown.
Is this a phosphate-based treatment?
No. It is a non-phosphate, carbonate-based formulation.
Does it replace oxygen scavengers?
No. Oxygen scavengers should still be used where dissolved oxygen control is required.
How is performance monitored?
By maintaining proper alkalinity levels and following recommended blowdown schedules.
Can it be used with other boiler treatment chemicals?
Yes. It is commonly fed alongside oxygen scavengers and steam-line treatments.
🧪 Active Ingredient(s) or Core Composition
• Sodium Hydroxide – Raises alkalinity to prevent scale formation
• Potassium Carbonate – Enhances corrosion control
• Sodium Lignosulfonate – Disperses sludge and suspended solids
• Anionic Dispersants – Prevent mineral deposition
• Ethoxylated Alcohol Phosphate Esters – Improve deposit control
• Water – Carrier for system distribution
📌 Directions for Use
This product may be fed using a one-shot treatment or an automated continuous feed system. Continuous feeding is recommended for industrial and large boiler systems. For weekly maintenance, add ½ gallon (2 quarts) per week for each 25 horsepower of boiler capacity. If the boiler system has not been previously treated, apply an initial starting dose of twice the weekly maintenance amount for the first four weeks. Maintain control by monitoring phenol (P) alkalinity between 500–700 ppm and implement a regular blowdown program to remove sludge and suspended solids.
⚠️ Safety & Handling
Danger. Causes severe skin burns and serious eye damage. Harmful if swallowed. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection when handling. Avoid breathing mist or spray. Wash thoroughly after handling and remove contaminated clothing before reuse. Store locked up and keep out of reach of children.
