🔥 HD Dynamics Aqua-Guard Scale Defense
A phosphate-based scale and corrosion inhibitor engineered for hot and cold closed-loop recirculating water systems operating under hard-water conditions.
Overview
HD Dynamics Aqua-Guard Scale Defense is a professional-grade liquid scale and corrosion inhibitor designed for closed-loop hot water and chilled water recirculating systems. The advanced phosphate-based formulation, enhanced with a polymeric dispersant, prevents the precipitation and adhesion of hard-water scale while controlling corrosion on internal metal surfaces.
This product is especially effective in systems exposed to high mineral content, where scale formation can restrict flow, reduce heat transfer efficiency, and accelerate equipment wear. Aqua-Guard Scale Defense can be injected directly into the system through a bypass feeder or mild steel feed piping, making it easy to integrate into existing treatment programs while minimizing toxicity concerns associated with heavy-metal formulations.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What type of systems is this designed for?
It is designed for closed-loop hot water and chilled water recirculating systems.
How does it control scale?
The phosphate chemistry prevents mineral precipitation while the polymer dispersant keeps solids suspended.
Can it be injected directly into the system?
Yes. It can be fed through a bypass feeder or compatible feed piping.
How is performance monitored?
By maintaining phosphate levels within the recommended ppm range.
Is it effective in hard-water systems?
Yes. It is specifically engineered for systems with highly scaling water.
Does it contain heavy metals?
No. The formulation avoids heavy-metal toxicity associated with older treatments.
🧪 Active Ingredient(s) or Core Composition
• Potassium Hydroxide – Maintains alkalinity and corrosion control
• Amino-Methylene Phosphonic Acid – Scale inhibition and mineral control
• Acrylamide–Acrylic Acid Copolymer – Polymeric dispersant for sludge and scale
• Benzotriazole – Corrosion inhibitor for metal protection
• Water – Carrier for system distribution
📌 Directions for Use
Dosage depends on total system volume and water chemistry. A typical starting dosage is 1 gallon per 125 gallons of system capacity. Feed the product directly into the recirculating system using a bypass feeder or compatible injection equipment. For optimal control, maintain a phosphate (PO₄) concentration between 3.0 and 5.0 ppm. Adjust feed rate as needed based on system conditions and test results. In some systems, additional oxygen scavenger treatment may be required to maintain sulfite (SO₃) levels between 20–40 ppm.
⚠️ Safety & Handling
Danger. Causes severe skin burns and serious eye damage. Do not breathe mist or spray. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, and eye or face protection when handling. Wash thoroughly after handling and remove contaminated clothing before reuse. If swallowed, rinse mouth and do not induce vomiting. If on skin or hair, remove contaminated clothing and rinse with water. If in eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes and seek immediate medical attention. Store locked up and keep out of reach of children. This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.
