Sodium troclosene is much more stable than sodium hypochlorite (bleach), releasing chlorine at a slower rate, which means that Activ8 AE ChloroGuard Disinfectant Tablets produce a solution that maintains disinfecting power for 3 days in a sealed container and 24 hours in an open container, compared to bleach solutions that become inactive after a day. Safety:
- Danger: Corrosive. Causes irreversible eye damage. Harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through skin. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Avoid breathing dust. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses or face shield when making up the solution. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Directions:

- To Disinfect: Add 2 – 6.55 gram tablets to 1 gallon of water. Contact time: 10 minutes.
- For C. difficile spores: Add 2 – 6.55 gram tablets to 1 quart of water or 8 – 6.55 gram tablets to 1 gallon of water. Contact time: 4 minutes.
