A product idea does not need to begin with a finished formula.
At Seismic Blends, we work with customers at different stages of product development. Some come to us with nothing more than a concept and a performance goal. Others already have a working formula but need help improving performance, lowering cost, simplifying production, or preparing the product for larger-scale manufacturing.
Our custom formulation services are built around both situations.
We can help create a new formula from scratch, or evaluate and improve an existing formulation so it performs better and makes more sense commercially.
Starting From Scratch
Some of the best product ideas begin with a simple question:
Can you make something that does this?
That may mean developing a cleaner that performs better on a specific type of soil, an odor-control product designed for a particular environment, a concentrated product that can be diluted by the end user, or a specialty chemical built around a very specific market.
A customer does not need to know the chemistry.
Instead, we can begin with the product requirements:
- What should the product do?
- Who will use it?
- Where will it be used?
- What type of packaging will it go into?
- Does it need to be concentrated or ready to use?
- What price point does it need to hit?
- What type of fragrance, color, foam, or appearance is desired?
- What production volume is expected?
From there, we can begin building the formulation around the intended use.
Improving Existing Formulas
Not every project requires starting over.
Many customers already have a formulation that works but needs improvement.
A current product may be too expensive to manufacture, difficult to source, unstable over time, hard to fill, inconsistent in production, or simply not performing as well as the customer wants.
In those cases, we can evaluate the existing formulation and look for opportunities to improve areas such as:
- Cleaning performance
- Odor neutralization
- Fragrance performance
- Concentration
- Cost per gallon
- Raw-material availability
- Foam level
- Solubility
- Stability
- Packaging compatibility
- Dilution ratios
- Manufacturing efficiency
- Product appearance
- Ease of use
The goal is not necessarily to change everything.
Often the best approach is to preserve what already works while improving the parts that do not.
Types of Products We Can Formulate
Seismic Blends works across a broad range of liquid chemical categories.
Multi-Purpose Cleaners
Multi-purpose cleaners can be designed for residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial environments.
Depending on the application, the formula can be adjusted for cleaning strength, foam level, fragrance, dilution ratio, surface compatibility, or concentration.
Heavy-Duty Degreasers
We can formulate or improve degreasers for grease, oil, carbon buildup, shop soils, food-service environments, equipment cleaning, and industrial applications.
These products can range from water-based general-purpose degreasers to stronger specialty cleaning systems.
Floor Cleaners and Floor Care
Floor-care formulations can be designed around routine cleaning, low-residue performance, fragrance, biological activity, or specific commercial environments.
That may include neutral floor cleaners, enzyme-based systems, or specialty maintenance products.
Bathroom and Restroom Cleaners
Restroom products may need to address several problems at once, including soil, mineral buildup, odor, urine residue, and general sanitation.
We can develop products for routine restroom maintenance as well as more specialized applications.
Descalers and Mineral Deposit Removers
Scale, hard-water deposits, rust staining, and mineral buildup often require more specialized chemistry than general-purpose cleaning.
We can develop acidic cleaning systems for equipment, fixtures, tile, industrial surfaces, and other compatible applications.
Odor Neutralizers and Deodorizers
Odor-control products can be designed to do more than simply add fragrance.
Formulations may incorporate odor counteractants, biological systems, surfactants, solvents, or other technologies depending on the source of the odor.
Applications may include:
- Restrooms
- Trash areas
- Smoke odors
- Pet odors
- Fish and seafood odors
- Ammonia odors
- Athletic gear
- Vehicles
- Commercial facilities
- Industrial environments
Pet Odor and Urine Odor Products
Pet-care formulations may be built around urine odors, general pet odors, bedding, kennels, carpets, floors, fabrics, and other compatible surfaces.
These products may incorporate enzyme or biological technologies depending on the intended application.
Smoke Odor Control
Smoke odors can be especially persistent because they may remain on fabrics, surfaces, vehicles, rooms, and other environments long after the original source is gone.
We can develop specialty deodorizing products intended to help control and neutralize these odors.
Ammonia Odor Control
Ammonia odors can be common in restrooms, animal areas, waste environments, facilities, and other commercial applications.
Products can be designed specifically around ammonia odor-control performance rather than simply masking the smell.
Enzyme-Based Cleaners and Deodorizers
Enzyme and biological products can be useful in applications involving organic soils and odors.
These formulations can be developed for floor cleaning, pet-care products, odor control, wastewater maintenance, and other specialty applications.
Air Fresheners and Fragrance Concentrates
Fragrance products can be developed as ready-to-use sprays, concentrated air fresheners, fragrance additives, or multi-purpose deodorizing products.
Formulations can be adjusted for fragrance level, solubility, dilution, appearance, and odor-control performance.
Laundry Additives and Fragrance Boosters
Laundry products can be developed to provide fragrance, odor control, cleaning support, or other functional benefits.
These may be used directly in laundry processes or incorporated into broader product lines.
Marine and Boat-Care Products
Marine products face unique conditions involving fish odors, salt, scale, algae, bait areas, coolers, decks, livewells, and equipment.
We can formulate specialty products for these environments, including cleaners, odor-control products, rinses, and maintenance chemicals.
Shoe, Athletic Gear and Equipment Deodorizers
Footwear, sports equipment, gloves, bags, helmets, pads, and training gear often require odor-control products designed for frequent use.
These formulations can be developed for spray application and other convenient delivery formats.
Automotive Cleaning and Deodorizing Products
Automotive products may be designed for detailing, interior cleaning, odor control, fragrance, upholstery, or general surface maintenance.
These products can be built for consumer, professional-detailing, fleet, or commercial applications.
Commercial and Janitorial Cleaning Products
Janitorial products may need to work across multiple environments and applications.
We can develop concentrated cleaners, deodorizing products, restroom products, floor cleaners, degreasers, and other products intended for professional use.
Industrial and Specialty Maintenance Products
Some customers need products for applications that do not fit neatly into a retail category.
That may include equipment cleaners, specialty solvents, maintenance chemicals, wastewater products, industrial odor-control products, or custom solutions built around a specific operational problem.
Formulation Is Only Part of the Process
A formula also has to work in production.
That means considering:
- Ingredient sourcing
- Mixing order
- Batch consistency
- Fill viscosity
- Packaging compatibility
- Storage stability
- Production speed
- Cost per finished unit
- Dilution instructions
- Shipping requirements
Because Seismic Blends also manufactures and co-packs products, formulation decisions can be evaluated with the production process in mind.
A formula that performs well but cannot be produced efficiently is not necessarily a good commercial product.
Our objective is to help create formulas that perform well and can be manufactured, packaged, sold, and scaled.
From Formula to Finished Product
Once a formulation is ready, Seismic Blends can continue supporting the project through:
Blending → Filling → Labeling → Packaging → Co-Packing → Fulfillment → Shipping
That means a customer can begin with an idea or an existing formula and work with one manufacturing partner through multiple stages of the product lifecycle.
Bring Us the Idea, the Formula or the Problem
You do not need to come to Seismic Blends with everything figured out.
You can come with:
- A new product idea
- An existing formula
- A competitor product you want to improve upon
- A performance problem
- A target cost
- A packaging concept
- A market you want to enter
From there, we can evaluate the project and determine the most practical path toward a manufacturable, market-ready product.
At Seismic Blends, custom formulation is not just about creating chemistry.
It is about creating a product that can actually be made, sold, and grown.
